History

The inn known as “Haus am Freidhof” is mentioned in official records for the first time. From then on, it is subject to the lordship of the Seekirchen parish.

The house becomes known as the Nusslehen or Kramerlehen, with an adjoining tavern.

Wolfgang Mosner of the Mosnergut estate in Seekirchen purchases the inn.

Barbara Pichler marries Michael Angerer.

Georg’s sister Salome Gmachl and her husband Martin Egger, the widower of Elise Laimer from the Gastag-Zuhaus, take over from her father.

Michael Holzner purchases the inn. Although ownership changes hands several times afterward, the house bears his name from then on. He and his wife Margarethe live in the neighboring Schneider- und Spitzenkramerhaus at Dorf No. 8, today’s municipal office. The legendary Holznerwirt goes on to marry twice more.

Michael Holzner marries Christine Kübler, the daughter of the baker in Eugenbach.

The Holznerwirt marries for the last time. His wife is Magdalene Baierhammer of the Pödlgut estate in Fischtagging.

Johann Holzner, Michael Holzner’s son from his first marriage, takes over the Holznerwirt and marries Maria Dafner, a merchant’s daughter from Bavaria.

Johann Flöckner, the son of a farmer from Sailerhof in the village, purchases the Holznerwirt for 924 guilders.

Johann Flöckner marries Theresia Braá(er), the daughter of the miller in Kirchstätt. She dies in 1755, and he dies in 1760.

Margarethe Flöckner, née Högler, becomes the landlady of the Holznerwirt. Together with her husband Peter Flöckner, also a son of the Sailerhof family, she had run the Großhuber estate from 1731 to 1756.

Peter Flöckner is made co-owner while still unmarried.

Peter Flöckner’s widow marries Georg Hofmann of Waging as her second husband.

The inn is sold to one of Hofmann’s daughters from an earlier marriage.

Georg Armsdorfer becomes the owner of the estate.

He sells the property on to Franz Schmerold.

Salome Gumpold and her husband Rupert Thalhammer purchase the estate at auction, as “Schmerold was no longer able to continue running the property after suffering the hardships of war and other misfortunes, as well as through poor household management.”

Rupert Thalhammer marries for a second time. His new wife is Gertrud Grössinger, widow of Benedikt Gmachl, the former innkeeper of Eugenbach.

Franz Gmachl, owner of the Drahgassenwirt, takes over the inn. The two properties are thus united.

His son Martin Gmachl and Martin’s wife, Viktoria Kraibacher of the Wiesergut estate, run the inn.

Their son, Franz Gmachl II, and his wife Juliane Högler of Unterhaging take over the estate.

Franz Gmachl II marries again, this time to Anna Stallinger of the Kirchbichlgut estate in Hof.

Their son, also named Franz Gmachl, marries Theresia Weissl, an innkeeper’s daughter from Frankenmarkt. Franz Gmachl III dies in an accident in 1949.

The heir is Eveline Theresia Weissl, Theresia Gmachl’s daughter, born after her marriage and née Weissl.

At just 19 years old, Eveline Theresia Weissl takes over the business, which had temporarily been leased out.

She marries Josef Gerhard Schönbauer.

She marries Johann Bimminger of Pettenbach as her second husband.
