The Hotel
near Salzburg

Set amid the countryside, just 15 minutes from Salzburg—and yet a world away. Holznerwirt is a place where you arrive. Truly arrive. Historic walls dating back to 1390, lovingly designed rooms with creaking larchwood floors, handwoven sheep’s-wool rugs, and details that stay with you.

 

Our kitchen sees things much the same way—and cooks with what the region has to offer. Produce from our own organic farm, and from local farmers who know what it means to treat nature with honesty and care. Whatever comes to the table simply tastes good.

 

And anyone who still hasn’t quite slowed down can retreat to our 800 m² sauna and spa—or find a shady spot beneath the ancient chestnut trees in our garden. For couples in search of peace. For families who want to take a breath together. Welcome to Holznerwirt.

History

Holznerwirt began as a country inn in 1390 and passed through the hands of many different owners over the centuries. In 1698, it was purchased by Michael Holzner, who gave the inn the name it still bears today.

Our breakfast

Breakfast buffet spread with bowls of cucumbers, tomatoes, and plates of sliced deli meats and cheeses.

A selection of 30 organic breakfast favorites, from seeds and grains to dried fruit and muesli. Twenty-one varieties of tea, gluten-free bread, and lactose-free milk, yogurt, and butter. Plus cold cuts, cheese, and ham from a local Salzburg butcher.
